cut- when replacing one shot with the next or when it is time for the next scene for a film.
dissolve- when one image slowly fades into the next image.
wipe- when one shot replaces another by travelling from one side of the frame to the other.
Crossfade- when one shot gradually fades into the next image.
digital effect- when one shot does movements across the frame while loading into the next shot.
Straight cut- a basic shot its when the first shot goes the next shot comes in.
contrast cut- one shot is different from the next shot such as, when shot A is in a dream then shot B is on a cliff.
match cut- when 2 shots join together with the same frames.
parallel editing cut- if the action is a running scene then the camera has to follow and record the scene.
morph- when one object gradually reshapes to become the next object or another object.
